Billing Representative

Part-time and Full-time positions open in Pine Brook, NJ. Hours vary Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Cash processing/posting of commercial insurances and patient payments. Ability to read an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) while posting by CPT code and interpreting rejection and denial codes.
  • Excellent data entry skills a must.
  • Inbound and outbound calls speaking w/patients and insurance carriers regarding laboratory billing issues.
  • Various administrative tasks as directed by Billing Director
  • Interaction with insurance companies and working with billing agents is strongly desired.
  • Ability to work with agings for adjudication of claims submitted.

Client Service Representative

Job summary

Our Client Service Representative must have the ability to handle stressful situations and demonstrate a potential for strong independent problem solving skills while dealing with sensitive patient and client information. Our customer service team is currently made up of individuals with strong communication skills, whom are able to speak the English language clearly and are able to effectively communicate to callers and peers.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Handle all client inquiries by telephone regarding verbal reporting or results, and other duties needed to provide customer satisfaction.
  • Report laboratory results to clients using established protocols.
  • Document reporting or call history in the patient file and maintain appropriate records.
  • Contact the client to resolve routine matters related to patient testing and result reporting.
  • Use established protocols for reporting client complaints.
  • Provide research and resolution on complex issues.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • High School Graduate or equivalency required.
  • At least 2 years experience working in Laboratory or Medical environment.
  • Some College preferred.
  • Basic typing and computer skills.
  • Some data entry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology and basic clinical testing
  • Client/Customer Service experience highly desirable.

Medical Technologist

Job summary

Our Laboratory Medical Technologist must have the ability follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result. As well as maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Applicants must be comfortable working independently with little or no supervision.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
  • Review and release test results.
  • Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and all maintenance performed
  • Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
  • Follow department’s procedure in reporting STATS or Critical results to clients.
  • If applicable, answer questions from customers or other lab personnel.
  • Maintain complete records of all testing performed on-site.
  • Maintain general appearance of the department.
  • Make sure reagents/test kits have received dates, expiration dates, and if applicable opened dates.
  • Review/train on new procedures.
  • Attend monthly department and any additional training/educational meetings.
  • Participate in all applicable safety training sessions. Know the location and contents of the safety manual. Know the location/use of all applicable safety equipment.
  • If needed, participate in government or regulatory agency inspections.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
  • Reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Able to perform phlebotomy if necessary.

Qualifications

  • BS in Medical Technology preferred and ASCP certified or eligible.
  • Active NY Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of NYSDOH regulations required.

Technical Skills Desired

  • Manual hematology review/differentials; urine microscopy; ability to review test results and identify abnormal or unusual results.

Phlebotomist

Job summary

Phlebotomists work under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Manager and/or Team Lead. Phlebotomist work within our Patient Service Center (PSC) (a walk in blood- draw center) or in-office physician’s office, performing specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. Maintain required records and documentation.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

      • Demonstrate professional and courteous behavior for both patients and client.
      • Collect and prepare specimens according to established procedures
      • Fill out requisition completely, accurately and legibly
      • Maintain log book and review all reports to ensure all specimens have been tested and to identify errors and report them to the appropriate department or management
      • Communicate with client to confirm handwritten orders, verify tests ordered and obtain accurate billing information
      • Preparation of specimens to include centrifuging, labeling, split and frozen requirements
      • Prepare and pack specimens for transport according to guidelines
      • Stock supplies as needed
      • Assists with the compilation of monthly statistics and data and submit them to your Supervisor monthly and on time

Qualifications

      • At least 1 year phlebotomy experience, preferable in an IOP position
      • Phlebotomy Certification
      • Reliable transportation

Sales Representative

Full time positions open in territories in both New York City and northern New Jersey.

Job summary

Responsible for all sales activities in assigned territories. Manage quality and consistency of service delivery.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

      • Present and sell company laboratory services to current and potential clients.
      • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
      • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
      • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
      • Maintain current laboratory terminology and service knowledge.
      • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
      • Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain client services.
      • Manage client services through quality checks and other follow-up.
      • Identify and resolve client concerns, working with lab or client services personnel, as appropriate.
      • Communicate new testing/service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
      • Participate in company marketing/sales events.

Qualifications

      • At least 3 years healthcare sales experience, such as pharmaceutical, medical devices or clinical laboratory services.
      • Prefer candidates with prior sales experience in Manhattan or Northern NJ territories.
