The Fecal Immunochemical Test, also known as FIT or FOBT, has replaced the traditional Guaiac method in many practices due to its improved sensitivity and specificity. The OC FIT-CHEK test is an immunological based test specifically designed to test for human hemoglobin in a patient’s stool. Polymedco's OC FIT-CHEK Test does not have any medicinal or dietary restrictions and only requires one sample from one bowel movement in comparison to other tests that require three samples from three bowel movements and have many dietary and medicinal restrictions. Practices that order the OC FIT-CHEK test increase efficiency for their practice and convenience for their patients while obtaining results that may allow for earlier detection of colorectal cancer.
